Karen Work recently retired from ConocoPhillips (COP) and is now self-employed. Work has 22 years of engineering experience, 15 of those years in the O&G industry with ConocoPhillips and has worked in Production, Completions and Water Management.

Work was the Water Management Supervisor for COP from 1-1-18 to 3-7-21 and has a passion around recycling and conserving fresh water resources. Her team built two recycling facilities, one in TX and one in NM. ConocoPhillips started recycling in TX in Jan 2019 and in NM Oct 2020 under her supervision and recycled ~13.5MM bbls during that time. Work has a passion for safety and has taught over 100 Safety Leadership Seminars.

Prior to her Water Management Supervisor position, she worked completions engineering for 8 years in the San Juan, Permian and Bakken Basins also working as a frac field supervisor in the Bakken.

Work earned a BS in Industrial Engieering from Texas Tech University in 1983. She also attended Super Petroleum School at the School of Mines in 2006. She and her husband have 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 2 mini-Aussies.
